Kevin & Teri Jaeger

Washington Island Wedding

Proposal date: August 1st, 2023

The ring: My engagement ring is a beautiful round diamond set in white gold. The center diamond and the band has tiny leaves that have diamonds on them. The diamond is 1.22 carats with a total weight of 1.31 carats.β€― Growing up, β€œBeauty and the Beast” was my favorite movie. This ring reminds me of the rose from that movie.

Kevin’s ring is a custom design. The outside is lined with trees as he is an avid hunter and outdoors man. The inside is teak wood which reminds him of the time he has spent on his family’s sailboat β€œSilver Heels”.

Teri’s ring is from SKashi, and Kevin’s ring is Lashbrook

How we met: We met through Facebook dating. Kevin swears we had met back in 2008, but I turned him down because he was a smoker. I don’t remember meeting him. Our first date was terrible. We met with friends to go swimming.β€― I accidentally broke a duck egg in the lake, and the smell was so terrible that Kevin and my friend both ended up vomiting all over.β€―That night I invited him over and he never really left after that. Within 3 weeks we were on the ferry to Washington Island to stay with his family.β€―

The proposal: We got engaged on August 1st, 2023. We had spent the day on the sailboat with his dad, stepmother and my daughter from a previous relationship.

We sailed into Fayette State Park in Michigan just as the sun was setting. It wasβ€―beautiful and the weather was perfect. We managed to make it to the ghost town right before the sun set. Inside the old hotel Kevin got down on one knee and in the last little bit of sunshine he took out the ring. He managed to mutter β€œso will you.” Being a little nervous, he eventually found the words he meant to say. Of course, I said yes.

We were married on July 25, 2025, on Washington Island, WI at the Stavkirke.β€―
