Diamonds and Gold Jewelry Care and Cleaning
Come to us. We are always happy to clean all of your jewelry for free.
We'll check it 1 over for any potential problems like loose stones,
bent prongs and signs of wear and tear that need attention.
Diamonds,
sapphires and rubies are the easiest to clean; they are the hardest and
most durable. Many other gems need special, gentler methods.
For
example, emeralds, tanzanite, pearls and opals should not be cleaned in
commercial cleaners as they can more easily be damaged and should only
be cleaned by a professional.

|
We make our own cleaning solutions. Here's our recipe:
4 parts cold water
1 part plain ammonia
1 squirt of blue dawn dish soap
|
|
|
|
Never use anything with bleach or chlorine in it, do not use boiling water,
and no toothpaste -- most of it is abrasive. We've seen many of these
options in some of the more popular hint books out there, and there are
very wrong and very dangerous.
So, when it comes to caring for your jewelry, we are the experts! Call us for advice or bring it to our store anytime. |
